Both sides are freaking KILLER, the rumbling bass on side A and the punishing drums on side B. There is so much to love by these two bands.
Favorite track: Transcending Ceremonial Obliteration With Malice - CEREMENTED.
Two of America's most nefarious cave dwellers join forces to release a split recording of abominative proportions, first up is CEREMENTED who hail from Phoenix and whose brutal sound trudges a disturbing path between death, doom and punk. Side 2 offers up a very different serving, MALEFIC LEVITATION hail from California and abuse a sound that is rather bestial black death.
Imprecation...Malignant Altar....Frozen Soul...I'm not sure what kind of sick ancient OSDM portal is being accessed in Texas these days, but these bands are killing it. Best EP I've heard since Spectral Voice's Necrotic Doom. Jay Lane
Chambers comes on and in the first couple of minutes, I had to stop dead in my living room and sit my ass down. The drum sound was THAT immediate. Encoffinized drops the hammer and gets the hell outta town for an LP. While there may not be tons of trailblazing about this release, but I have to put plant a flag in the ground here and say that this kind of "sound" takes vision, personality, and dedication. A corrosive mix of death, doom, psychedelia, and black metal, the Portland quartet’s debut full-length is a bona fide underground monolith that shapeshifts with each listen, all while maintaining its essential heaviness. Bandcamp Album of the Day Feb 1, 2019
