Mexico's Disterror have come a long way since their 2011 Upcoming Warfare demo. While that and other early recordings do justice to their Dis-moniker by focusing on a violent dbeat sound, their first full-length Catharsis viciously incorporates black and heavy metal elements to their unruly sound.
Catharsis is shaped by seven tracks of unrelenting riffage, negative lyricism and unhinged drumming. It is limited to 175 copies, pro tapes / pro covers.
A corrosive mix of death, doom, psychedelia, and black metal, the Portland quartet’s debut full-length is a bona fide underground monolith that shapeshifts with each listen, all while maintaining its essential heaviness. Bandcamp Album of the Day Feb 1, 2019
